THE PRACTICE

Prof  Mittal specializes in gallbladder, hernia, liver tumours, pancreatic, and biliary surgery.  He is a specialist hepatobiliary and pancreatic surgeon and a Professor of Surgery at Notre Dame University and a Clinical Associate Professor at the University of Sydney. He is also the head of GIT surgery at the Mater Hospital.

Prof Mittal is a trained robotic surgeon undertaking complex robotic operations on the latest da Vinci XI Surgical System.  Benefits of the robot include enhanced 3D vision and instruments that allow for more precise operating - enabling complex operations to be done without the need to make big incisions.

Prof Mittal's practice has a strong focus on evidence-based surgery and current technology.  He is well published and has taught on multiple surgical courses.

Prof Mittal is happy to take on emergency and elective cases.  All elective referrals will be seen within 7 days.  Private patients can choose between North Shore Private Hospital and Mater Hospital.  Public patients have the option of Ryde Hospital or Royal North Shore Hospital.
